Check-In Information Settings

Configure check-in times, age restrictions, and related guest messages. These settings control when and how guests can complete self check-in.

Configuration Options

Guest & Staff Impact

  • Guests: If they arrive too early or are under the minimum age, they are guided to the front desk instead of completing self check-in.
  • Staff: Clear rules reduce exceptions at the kiosk and help front desk teams handle early arrivals consistently.

Minimum Age for Check-In

Set the minimum age required for guests to check in independently.

  • Default: 18 years
  • Behavior: Guests below this age are blocked from checking in and must be accompanied by an adult
  • Range: Any positive number

Allowed Check-In Time

Set the earliest time guests can complete check-in.

  • Format: 24-hour time (HH:MM)
  • Example: 14:00 for 2:00 PM
  • Optional: Leave empty to allow check-in at any time

Early Arrival Message

Displayed when guests attempt to check in before the allowed check-in time.

  • Multilingual: Supports all enabled languages
  • Appears: Only when check-in time is set
  • Example: "Thank you for staying with us, your room is currently being prepared. Please return to collect your keys during check-in time."

Standard Arrival Message

Displayed during or after the allowed check-in time (e.g., when room isn't ready).

  • Multilingual: Supports all enabled languages
  • Example: "Thank you for staying with us, your room is currently being prepared."

Configuration Steps

Step 1: Set Age Restrictions

  1. Go to Settings → Check-In → Check-In Information
  2. Enter a value in Minimum Age for Check-In
  3. Click Save

Step 2: Set Check-In Time

  1. Click the time picker for Allowed Check-In Time
  2. Select your hotel's standard check-in time
  3. Click Save

Step 3: Configure Messages

  1. If check-in time is set, the Early Arrival Message field appears
  2. Enter your message in each enabled language (click language tabs)
  3. Configure the Standard Arrival Message for when rooms aren't ready
  4. Click Save

Troubleshooting

Messages Not Appearing

  1. Ensure you've set an allowed check-in time (early arrival message only shows when time is set)
  2. Confirm you've saved your changes
  3. Check that the language is enabled in Supported Languages

Age Restriction Not Working

  1. Verify the minimum age value is saved
  2. Check reservation guest data includes date of birth
