Start with a tablet and reliable internet. Add room-access hardware based on your chosen flow.
This guide helps you prepare the minimum hardware for AVA.
Core requirements (both models)
- Reliable internet connection
- A tablet or kiosk with a camera
- A stable power source near the front desk
Full self check-in
Recommended hardware:
- Guest device: kiosk or tablet at the front desk
- ID capture: device camera (passport/ID scanners are not supported)
- Optional face verification: front-facing camera
- QR signage: printed QR code for mobile check-in
- Room access hardware: smart locks, keycard encoder, or lockers
Assisted check-in
Recommended hardware:
- Staff tablet: used for guest lookup and check-in
- ID capture: device camera (passport/ID scanners are not supported)
- Optional room access: smart locks or keycard encoder
Room access hardware
Choose one:
- Smart locks: PIN codes for guests
- Keycard encoders: physical keycards at the front desk
- Lockers: code-based access for key pickup
