Full self check-in (guest-led)

Guests complete the full flow on a kiosk or by scanning a QR code.

Typical steps:

  1. Guest scans passport or ID
  2. Guest finds their reservation
  3. Guest confirms registration details
  4. Optional facial verification
  5. AVA checks the guest in on the PMS
  6. Room access is issued (smart lock PIN, keycard encoder, or locker code)

Choose this if you want to reduce front desk workload or offer after-hours check-in.

Assisted check-in (staff-led)

Staff starts the check-in on a tablet, then passes it to the guest for confirmation.

Typical steps:

  1. Staff finds the reservation on the tablet
  2. Staff scans the passport/ID
  3. Guest confirms registration details and signs
  4. Staff taps Check In to update the PMS
  5. Optional: issue room access (PIN or keycard)

Choose this if you prefer staff-led service or need more control over the flow.

Room access is optional in assisted check-in. If you enable it, staff can issue a PIN or encode a keycard during check-in.
