Understand Room Status
A room is usually ready when it is Vacant and Clean. This takes seconds to confirm.
This guide helps you read room status and know what you can update.
| Signal | What it means | Where it comes from |

| Room Status | Occupied or Vacant | PMS check-in and check-out |
| Condition | Clean, Dirty, or Inspected | Housekeeping updates in AVA |
| Do Not Disturb | Do Not Disturb on or off | Housekeeping toggle in AVA |
Check a room status

Go to Housekeeping.

Find the room by number.

Review Room Status, Condition, and Do Not Disturb.
✓ You can see if the room is ready for arrival.
Update what you can

Open the Condition dropdown to change Clean, Dirty, or Inspected.

Toggle Do Not Disturb when needed.
✓ AVA sends the update to the PMS. The list updates after it saves.
Room Status updates after check-in or check-out in the PMS. You cannot edit it here.
If the room is Vacant but Dirty, check-in may be blocked based on Settings → Check-In rules.
Troubleshooting
Room shows occupied after the guest left
What you see: Room Status stays Occupied.
Fix:
- Complete the check-out in the PMS or AVA.
- Refresh Housekeeping after check-out.
Room condition does not change
What you see: The condition reverts after you change it.
Fix:
- Try the update again.
- Confirm the PMS connection is active.
