Update Room Conditions
Quick Update
Changing a room condition sends the update to the PMS and refreshes the list.
This guide helps you mark rooms Clean, Dirty, or Inspected in Housekeeping.
| Condition | What it means | Use it when |
|---|---|---|
| Clean | Room is cleaned and ready | After standard cleaning |
| Dirty | Room needs cleaning | After checkout or a service request |
| Inspected | Room is cleaned and checked | After a supervisor review |
Update a condition

Go to Housekeeping.

Find the room in the list.

Open the Condition dropdown.

Select the new condition.
✓ The badge updates and a success message appears.
If you do not see Inspected
Your PMS may not support this status. You can still use Clean and Dirty.
Same-day checkout prompt
If the room is occupied and checking out today, AVA may prompt you. It asks you to confirm checkout before marking Clean or Inspected.
Troubleshooting
Condition changes do not save
What you see: The condition returns to its previous value.
Fix:
- Wait a few seconds and try again.
- Refresh the page.
- Ask an admin to confirm Settings → Essentials → PMS Integration is connected.
Inspected is missing
What you see: Only Clean and Dirty appear in the dropdown.
Fix:
- Confirm your PMS supports Inspected.
- If it does, ask support to review the PMS mapping.
