iOS Widget Verification Fails
Most fixes take under 5 minutes. Start by confirming the guest is using the iPhone or iPad app.
This guide helps you fix verification failures on iPhone and iPad widget flows. iOS now uses a native reCAPTCHA Enterprise check. Valid native iOS assessments are no longer rejected for low scores. Web browser verification still uses the existing path.
Quick Reference
| What you see | Likely cause | Do this |
|---|---|---|
| iPhone or iPad guests fail verification | The native iOS token failed validation | Retry once, then collect the app version and timestamp |
| Web guests still pass | The web path is working | Focus on iOS bundle IDs and action settings |
| Guests see repeated verification failures | The token, bundle ID, or action failed validation | Ask support to review the iOS assessment settings |
| Verification hangs or times out | Google did not answer in time | Ask support to review the request timeout |
| Only one app build fails | The app bundle ID is not allowlisted | Ask support to confirm the bundle ID list |
Try This First
-
Ask the guest to close and reopen the iPhone or iPad app.
-
Confirm the guest is not using a desktop browser by mistake.
-
Retry the same flow once.
-
Test the same reservation on a web browser.
-
If web works, collect the device model, app version, and time of failure.
✓ This usually tells support whether the issue is iOS-specific.
What Changed
AVA now checks iOS widget tokens with Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise. The check validates the token, the allowed bundle ID, and the expected action. Low or missing scores do not block a valid iOS token.
The web verification flow does not use this iOS path.
Troubleshooting
iPhone or iPad guests fail every time
What you see: The guest reaches verification, then sees a failure message again.
Fix:
-
Ask the guest to retry once on a fresh session.
-
Confirm the guest is using the current app build.
-
Test the same reservation on a web browser.
-
If web works, send the failure time, device model, and app version to support.
✓ Support can check the iOS assessment settings against the app build.
Web works, but iOS fails
What you see: The guest completes verification in a browser, but not on iPhone or iPad.
Fix:
-
Ask support to confirm the iOS bundle ID list.
-
Ask support to confirm the expected action name.
-
Retry after the settings are updated.
✓ This usually points to an iOS token policy mismatch.
Verification keeps timing out
What you see: The guest waits too long, then verification fails.
Fix:
- Retry once on a stable network.
- Confirm the guest has internet access.
- Ask support to review the request timeout.
- Retry after the timeout setting is adjusted.
Only one app version fails
What you see: Older or newer app builds fail, but other builds work.
Fix:
-
Record the app version that failed.
-
Record the device model and iOS version.
-
Test one more build if available.
-
Share the details with support.
✓ Support can compare the bundle ID and release settings.
