Manage WhatsApp Templates

Quick Setup

Plan about 10 minutes for your first template.

This guide helps you manage WhatsApp templates for guest messaging.

Go to: Settings → Communications → WhatsApp → Templates

Before You Start

Confirm these requirements:

  • WhatsApp is connected in Settings → Communications → WhatsApp → Setup
  • You know the message you want to send

Create a Template

  1. Go to Settings → Communications → WhatsApp → Templates.

  2. Click Create New Template.

  3. Complete Template Name, Template Language, Category, and Body Content.

  4. Type {{ to insert a variable.

  5. Click Continue.

    ✓ Step 2 opens with sample fields.

  6. Enter a sample value for each variable.

  7. Click Save Template.

    ✓ The template appears with a status badge.

Template name format

Use only lowercase letters, numbers, and underscores in Template Name.

Preview a Template

  1. Find the template row.

  2. Click Preview (eye icon).

  3. Review the preview panel.

    ✓ The template text appears in the modal.

Set Template Variables

  1. Find a template with the Set Variables (gear icon) action.

  2. Click Set Variables.

  3. Choose a value for each variable.

  4. Click Save Variables.

    ✓ Variables are saved for previews.

Delete a Template

  1. Find the template row.

  2. Click Delete Template (trash icon).

  3. Confirm the deletion.

    ✓ The template is removed.

Tips

  • Only approved templates appear in WhatsApp message scheduling pages.
  • Use Preview to confirm formatting before you use the template.

Troubleshooting

Template name format error

What you see: "Template name can only contain lowercase alphanumeric characters and underscores."

Fix:

  1. Remove spaces and uppercase letters.
  2. Try a new name.

No templates found

What you see: "No templates found."

Fix:

  1. Click Create New Template.
  2. Save at least one template.

Save Variables button is disabled

What you see: You cannot click Save Variables.

Fix:

  1. Select a value for every variable.
  2. Try Save Variables again.
